The Water Treatment Plant

Located on State Route T, approximately one mile west of the City and was built in 2001, replacing the original plant that was built in the 1920’s. The plant’s capacity is approximately 2,300,000 gallons of water per day.

Water sources include surface water from Saline Creek as well as 5 underground wells strategically located throughout the City. Chlorine is added to ensure the water meets the disinfection guidelines required by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources.

The City of Perryville provides water to approximately 3,800 commercial and residential customers and well as the Sereno Water District. Currently, the consumer demand ranges from 900,000 to 1,500,000 gallons per day. The plant currently employs three class “A” operators and two class “C” operators.
