Next time you're downtown, stop and check out the new trees planted around the square. This project was a cooperative venture between the Missouri Department of Conservation TRIM Grant and The City of Perryville. These trees, approved by the MDC's Regional Forester, replaced the highly invasive, non-native Bradford Pears. Each tree has a plaque at the base which tells the species. Species planted include: Frans Fontaine Hornbeam, Princeton Sentry Ginkgo, Crimson Spire Oak, Ruby Falls Redbud, Wildfire Black Gum, Green Vase Zelkova, Bowhall Maple.
