Utility Services & Billing

Billing

The Utility Billing Department is responsible for the City’s water, sewer, trash and natural gas utility bills. In addition to calculating the bills and accepting payments, the department handles questions about your bill and request for utility connections or disconnections. The department currently manages approximately 3800 active utility accounts.

Billing Cycle

The City of Perryville’s trained staff read your utility meter each month. Bills are then calculated and mailed on the last business day of the month. All bills are due on the 15th of the month. If not paid by the 15th of the month, you will receive a 10% penalty on any unpaid balance and you will receive an automated telephone call stating that your account is delinquent.

Disconnection of Service

Your monthly bill will state the disconnection date for that month. If the City must disconnect services due to non-payment, the following charges must be paid before reinstatement of services:
  • Full payment on account, plus
  • $50 disconnect / reconnect fee for water and $100 disconnect / reconnect fee for gas, plus
  • Increased security deposit fee (if applicable)
If accounts are not paid, they will be turned over to the City attorney for collections.

Information regarding utility accounts is available to the customer and person(s) designated by the account holder by contacting the Utility Billing Department at (573) 547-2594.
