Project Dry Basement

Our sewer backflow prevention program, known as Project Dry Basement, began in July, 2017. This program will cover the cost of an approved backflow prevention device for residences and businesses in Perryville that have experienced sewer backups from surcharging of the public sewer system during wet weather or blockages.  After reporting the basement backup (must be reported to Perryville Public Works at 573-547-2500 - available 24 hrs), if your property is verified to be eligible, you will receive a letter of approval in the mail. For information about the program, please view the Project Dry Basement fact sheet below.

This program will reimburse the property owner up to $1500 for the initial installation of a protection device. Please note that each property must be APPROVED before the device is installed for the program to be applied. After approval, the property owner should consult their plumbing contractor to determine which device would be most effective. It is important to remember that all of these types of devices require regular maintenance and cleaning, which the property owner is responsible for completing.

For questions about the Project Dry Basement program, call 573-547-2500.
